Not every study needs the same level of recruitment support. UXArmy offers two approaches – both backed by the same commitment to participant quality, designed for different research contexts.

Recruit from our UserAdvocate community

For platform-based studies usability tests, surveys, card sorting, tree testing the UserAdvocate community gives you direct access to research-experienced participants across APAC and beyond. Set up your Screener with Logic and Quotas, define your target profile using demographic and behavioural parameters, and launch your study. Participants will take your user test on a first come first serve basis.

What makes this different from a standard DIY panel? UserAdvocate community members are not anonymous opt-ins. They are a curated community with platform participation history. Members who don’t meet quality standards over time are removed keeping the pool genuine.

ResearchOps managed recruitment

Some research can’t rely on panel availability alone. When your target profile is niche, your study is longitudinal or sensitive, or you need participants in a specific context – our ResearchOps team takes over.

We handle everything! Review of research brief, Screener design, manual participant sourcing, phone or video screening in local languages, scheduling, non-disclosure agreement (NDA) collection, and incentive management in local currencies. You receive a shortlist of verified, willing participants ready for your research.

What makes this different from a standard recruitment agency? Our recruiters are trained in UX research contexts. They understand the difference between a good Screener and a flawed one. They will flag issues with your brief before participant recruitment begins.

Recruiting from the UserAdvocate community is self-directed you set up your screener and demographics on the UXArmy platform, and participants are matched from the panel. It’s the natural route for unmoderated studies like usability tests, surveys, card sorting, and tree testing.
Managed recruitment is a done-for-you service. Our ResearchOps team handles everything: brief review, screener design, manual sourcing, phone or video screening in local languages, scheduling, NDA collection, and incentive management. It’s designed for studies where the audience is complex, niche, or hard to reach through an online panel alone.

UserAdvocate members are not anonymous opt-ins from an open-access pool. They have a documented participation history on the UXArmy platform including past study performance. Members who give low-effort, inconsistent, or dishonest responses are removed over time. The result is a community where participation quality has been demonstrated, not just self-declared.

It depends on the study type and how niche your target audience is. For most managed interviews and focus group recruitment, we deliver screened participants within 2–3 weeks of brief confirmation. Highly specific or rare profiles may take longer we’ll be upfront about timelines when you share your brief.

It depends on the study type. Unmoderated studies usability tests, surveys, card sorting, and tree testing are designed to run on the UXArmy platform, where panel participants integrate natively. For moderated and in-person research (interviews, focus groups, ethnography, diary studies), participants recruited by UXArmy can join sessions on any platform you prefer Zoom, Dovetail, UserZoom, Lookback, and others. UXArmy supplies the participants; you choose how you run the session.
